Little Cherry Disease

Little Cherry the disease that is an issue in Washington at the moment, does not cause fruit to fall from the tree. The fruit does not grow very large, it stays a pale tomato reddish color, sometimes is 3 sided and pointed, never develops much sugar and has a flat taste. As a student in 1974 I spent all summer tracking down Little Cherry in rected trees in the Okanagan Valley. Whole orchards were removed in the Naramata area. Once a tree is infected it will not recover.the difference between the current outbreak and the BC outbreak that started in the Kootenay area in 1938 and Okanagan in the 1960’s is there is a lot more is known about it now, see: https://www.bctfpg.ca/pest_guide/info/128/
